Tidashi /t īd ȯsh ē/
Tidashi is a ancient tool reimagined in Titanium. Its design and name are inspired by the Kiridashi- Kogatana; a traditional Japanese utility knife.
A desire to truly connect with the materials I work with led to this project, in which I completely avoid any computers or automated processes. Having been so reliant on computers for design and manufacturing, I felt that I was losing touch with materials and their real world properties. Titanium is an extremely tough material, and it is a delight to feel it's resilience with my own hands.
Tidashi comes either brushed or polished, and can be finished with a lush anodized colored layer. In its silicone sheath it can be carried around the neck using the Paracord necklace. Alternatively it can be used as a handy keychain.
